Medical Assistant
Location: Long Island City, NY 11102

Duration: 9 Weeks
Shift: Day | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5x8 Hours | 40 Hours/Week

Pay Rate: $18–$19/hr
Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture, EKGs, vital signs, specimen collection, and POC testing.
Escort patients and assist with patient flow, transfers, and dressing as needed.
Assist physicians with procedures and prepare examination rooms.
Maintain patient records, charts, and medical documentation.
Enter physician orders into the EMR.
Prepare prescription refill requests for physician review.
Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
Update patient demographic and insurance information.
Assist with insurance verification and pre-certification.
Inventory and restock medical supplies.
Follow sterilization, infection-control, PPE, and safety procedures.
Maintain required clinical and equipment logs.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course.
Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school.
AHA BLS/BCLS certification required.
Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Phlebotomy/Venipuncture experience required.
EMR experience required.
Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
English required; Spanish preferred.
