Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN to provide direct, patient-centered nursing care, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care.
Required Qualifications
Active New York State RN License.
Primary Source Verification required.
Current AHA BLS certification.
AHA ACLS certification required for Queens assignments.
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting.
Most recent relevant experience must be within the past year.
Strong physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, infection control, IV therapy, and post-operative care skills.
Telemetry monitoring and patient education experience.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
EPIC EMR experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients.
Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications.
Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV initiation.
Monitor and document vital signs and clinical measurements.
Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as required.
Identify and report medication reactions or changes in patient condition.
Provide post-operative care and ongoing patient monitoring.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation.
Follow nursing standards, infection-control procedures, and facility protocols.
