Pay Range: $60 - $66/hr
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to adult patients in an acute-care Med/Surg Telemetry setting.
Required Qualifications
Current, active New York State RN Registration.
BLS certification required.
Minimum 1.5 years of recent RN experience within the past 2 years in a comparable acute-care facility.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg required.
Adult Med/Surg experience required.
Ability to read and interpret telemetry.
Ability to start IVs and draw labs.
Strong acute-care nursing assessment skills.
EPIC experience preferred.
Level I or Level II trauma hospital experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to perform required patient-care skills with minimal orientation and supervision.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting.
Perform nursing assessments and identify changes in patient condition.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor telemetry and recognize and report significant rhythm or clinical changes.
Initiate and maintain IV access and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Draw laboratory specimens and monitor relevant laboratory results.
Monitor patient responses to medications, treatments, and interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC when applicable.
Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions.
Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and infection-control standards.
Follow hospital policies, procedures, nursing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Participate in every other weekend and designated holiday coverage.
Maintain required licensure, certifications, and professional competencies throughout the assignment.
