JOB OVERVIEW

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Job Type: Contract (no benefits)
Duration: 15 weeks
Shift: Nights

Candidates needed: Both local and traveling candidates

SCHEDULE

Two shift options are listed:

• Shift 1: 3 x 12 hours, Friday to Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Shift 2: 4 x 10 hours, Monday to Thursday, 10:00 PM – 8:30 AM

COMPENSATION

Traveling candidates: $2,500 – $2,700 per week, based on experience
Local candidates: $65 – $70 per hour, based on experience

JOB SUMMARY: This position performs radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists. The technologist provides radiologic examinations based on the needs of referring physicians and radiologists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Care and Imaging

• Perform radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists.
• Greet the patient, explain the examination, position the patient, and set the proper exposure factors to obtain a quality radiograph.
• Practice appropriate radiation safety and protection so patients do not receive undue radiation exposure.

Equipment

• Operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively to obtain quality studies.
• Use imaging equipment properly.
• Report any equipment malfunctions to the immediate supervisor.

Documentation and Procedures

• Process films.
• Enter information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing purposes.
• Follow department procedures and protocols as defined in the Policy and Procedure Manual.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• NYS license/registration.
• One year of experience as a radiologic technologist.
• Must pass a pre-employment health clearance.
