JOB TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Orthopedic Practice

JOB OVERVIEW

Location: Paramus, NJ
Job type: Contract (No Benefits)
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Candidates needed: Both local and traveling candidates

COMPENSATION

Local candidates: $36 – $39 per hour, based on experience
Traveling candidates: $40 – $44 per hour, based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Patient Care

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Provide hygienic care and assist patients with ambulation and meals as directed by the RN.
• Position patients and provide pre-operative, post-operative and post-mortem care as needed.
• Identify and address individual patient needs based on age, culture, language, and physical or cognitive abilities.

Assessment and Communication

• Perform ongoing systematic collection of non-interpretable patient data, focusing on physiological, psychosocial and cognitive status.
• Immediately communicate any changes in a patient’s condition to the RN.
• Collaborate with facility personnel, patients and visitors.

Safety

• Maintain a safe patient environment by responding promptly to call lights.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current, valid New Jersey LPN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
• Experience in patient care, non-interpretable data collection, hygienic care, ambulation assistance, and pre- and post-operative care.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5 or more years of experience.
