Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Developer/System Engineer to manage, support, and enhance an enterprise EAM platform across on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in EAM configuration, API development, system integrations, mobile platform support, database administration, application upgrades, and cloud migration.

This role involves maintaining the existing on-premises environment while planning and executing the migration to a cloud-based EAM platform. Responsibilities include application configuration, data migration, integration development, security management, testing, deployment, and post-migration stabilization.

The successful candidate will also provide technical leadership, troubleshoot complex system issues, maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure EAM solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application Configuration and Customization

  • Design, configure, and maintain application screens, custom fields, user-defined fields (UDFs), menus, tabs, screen layouts, and mobile interfaces.
  • Configure application modules, including Work Management, Equipment, Materials, Purchasing, Projects, and related functional areas.
  • Configure work order workflows, approval processes, status transitions, activity codes, task codes, preventive maintenance schedules, meter-based triggers, and route structures.
  • Manage lookup codes, cost codes, commodity codes, class hierarchies, and other reference data.
  • Administer user accounts, security groups, screen permissions, data restrictions, organization/site access, service accounts, and authentication settings.
  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards, standard reports, ad hoc queries, and custom SQL reports.
  • Implement approved customizations and extensions when standard configuration cannot meet business requirements.
  • Follow established customization standards and upgrade-safe development practices.
  • Document customization requirements, technical designs, risks, testing procedures, and ongoing maintenance considerations.
  • Apply a configuration-first approach, using custom development only when standard functionality, workflows, reports, alerts, or integrations are insufficient.

2. API Development, Integration, and Data Exchange

  • Develop and maintain REST APIs, SOAP services, and connector-based web service integrations.
  • Configure authentication mechanisms, connector users, and secure service accounts.
  • Design and implement bidirectional data integrations between the EAM platform and external systems, including ERP, SCADA, GIS, financial, HR, identity management, and reporting platforms.
  • Develop integration scripts, ETL processes, and data transformation logic using Python, Java, .NET/C#, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Troubleshoot API failures, synchronization issues, data mapping errors, and integration problems.
  • Monitor integration performance and maintain logging, alerting, and operational support procedures.
  • Document API endpoints, authentication workflows, payload structures, error-handling mechanisms, integration architecture, data ownership, and support procedures.

3. EAM Mobile Platform Support

  • Configure, support, and troubleshoot mobile EAM functionality, including work orders, equipment lookup, inspections, checklists, materials usage, attachments, and field-user workflows.
  • Support barcode, QR code, and RFID-based asset identification processes.
  • Manage mobile deployment, user access, role-based permissions, device compatibility, and mobile form configurations.
  • Troubleshoot online and offline synchronization issues and mobile data validation problems.
  • Collaborate with operations and field personnel to improve mobile usability, task workflows, and data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and endpoint management teams to resolve connectivity, authentication, performance, and device-management issues.

4. On-Premises Administration, Cloud Migration, and Modernization

  • Plan and execute application upgrades, version updates, and patch deployments.
  • Conduct pre-upgrade assessments, develop test plans, perform regression testing, coordinate cutovers, and establish rollback procedures.
  • Validate application functionality and system stability following upgrades.
  • Administer the application infrastructure, including application servers, web servers, database servers, operating system configurations, Java environments, and deployment artifacts.
  • Support application servers such as JBoss, WildFly, WebSphere, or equivalent platforms.
  • Perform database administration and optimization, including schema management, index optimization, query tuning, archiving, and storage planning.
  • Coordinate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Develop and execute an end-to-end migration plan from the existing on-premises EAM environment to a cloud-based EAM platform.
  • Assess the current application environment, databases, customizations, integrations, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Plan data cleansing, migration sequencing, environment preparation, security reviews, and integration modernization.
  • Coordinate migration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover planning, stakeholder communications, rollback procedures, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Support cloud environment administration, including tenant configuration, user roles, access controls, integration updates, security coordination, and release management.
  • Validate migrated data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of application records.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve cloud migration and platform issues.
  • Maintain development, testing, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, training, and sandbox environments.
  • Manage configuration and code promotion processes across environments.
  • Monitor application performance, review system logs, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization recommendations.

5. Technical Leadership and Application Support

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for the EAM platform.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for application, mobile, database, reporting, integration, and infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, procurement, finance, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, technical documentation, configuration guides, support runbooks, migration plans, integration diagrams, test plans, and change logs.
  • Evaluate new EAM modules, cloud capabilities, mobile features, APIs, and platform releases.
  • Recommend improvements to system architecture, upgrade schedules, modernization priorities, and technical debt management.
  • Mentor administrators, analysts, developers, and power users on application configuration, data quality, mobile workflows, change control, and best practices.
  • Follow established software development lifecycle, security, testing, and change management standards.
