Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer specializing in .NET technologies and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience, expertise in Microsoft Azure and SQL Server, and hands-on experience designing, developing, and enhancing GIS applications using Esri technologies.

The candidate will be responsible for developing scalable applications, creating custom GIS tools, managing spatial data, integrating enterprise systems, and optimizing application performance. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack applications using Microsoft .NET technologies, including C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9.0, Entity Framework, JavaScript libraries, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET.
• Analyze, design, and develop application interfaces and integration workflows using Visual Studio and related development tools.
• Design, develop, and optimize database structures and SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Utilize Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions, to develop scalable and reliable cloud-based applications.
• Integrate GIS applications and spatial data with enterprise systems to improve operational efficiency and data accessibility.
• Design, develop, and enhance ArcGIS Pro-based applications and custom extensions for editing linear and point features.
• Create custom tools, scripts, and workflows in ArcGIS Pro to improve GIS data editing and processing.
• Manage, process, and analyze spatial data from multiple sources.
• Maintain GIS dataset accuracy and integrity through data conversion, validation, quality assurance, and updates.
• Optimize spatial databases and file geodatabases for performance and usability.
• Develop integration solutions connecting GIS platforms with enterprise applications and third-party systems.
• Automate GIS workflows using Python, ArcPy, Arcade, ModelBuilder, and related tools.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and interface designers to integrate user-facing components with server-side logic.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues to maintain system stability and performance.
• Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and requirements to team members and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, workflows, and user guides.
• Ensure applications comply with security standards, industry best practices, and established development guidelines.
• Prepare technical documentation and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions to support application adoption and maintenance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to application development processes and GIS solutions.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Education and Overall Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in full-stack .NET development.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap-based GIS solution design and development.

.NET Application Development

• Hands-on development experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET.
• Experience developing and extending ArcGIS Pro editing tools and custom GIS applications.
• Proficiency in Python, ArcPy, Arcade, and ModelBuilder for GIS automation and workflow development.
• Demonstrated experience with Esri products, including:

Database and Cloud Technologies

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, query development, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with geospatial data in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Familiarity with relational databases and enterprise geospatial database management.
• Experience using Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions.
• Understanding of cloud application development, deployment, and integration.

DevOps and Development Tools

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Experience with version control using Git and GitHub.
• Familiarity with application lifecycle management tools, including Azure DevOps and related development tools.
• Understanding of software release management and deployment practices.
