This role involves translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing technical architectures while providing architectural leadership, establishing engineering standards, and mentoring development teams.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Integration Architecture

  • Design end-to-end application and integration architectures using C#, .NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and Microsoft Azure.

  • Define enterprise integration patterns, including synchronous and asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture, publish/subscribe, request-reply, orchestration, and choreography.

  • Develop architecture standards that promote scalability, reusability, security, and maintainability.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and developers to translate requirements into technical designs.

  • Lead proof-of-concepts, technical evaluations, and build-versus-buy assessments.

  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical direction throughout the software development lifecycle.

Azure Integration & API Management

  • Architect and implement solutions using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Event Grid, Azure Storage, and Application Insights.

  • Design secure, reusable, and well-governed RESTful APIs.

  • Establish API versioning, authentication, authorization, throttling, policies, and documentation standards.

  • Define integration standards for error handling, retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, logging, monitoring, and resiliency.

  • Design cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-on-premises integrations.

  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues and recommend long-term architectural improvements.

Application Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Provide architectural guidance to full-stack .NET development teams.

  • Review application designs involving Angular or React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Entity Framework, EF Core, and SQL-based data access.

  • Establish coding standards, design patterns, API guidelines, and technical documentation practices.

  • Conduct code reviews and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Mentor developers and support technical decision-making across projects.

Security, Performance & Reliability

  • Design architectures that meet enterprise security, performance, scalability, and availability requirements.

  • Apply OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, managed identities, and role-based access control (RBAC).

  • Define strategies for disaster recovery, fault tolerance, observability, and production support.

  • Review application and integration designs for security vulnerabilities and compliance with established standards.

  • Analyze production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures to identify root causes.

DevOps & Cloud Operations

  • Establish deployment and release standards using Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Define configuration management and secure secrets-handling practices.

  • Guide deployment strategies across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Support cloud operations, application monitoring, release management, and continuous improvement.

Required Technical Skills

Backend & Application Architecture

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, including significant solution architecture and integration architecture responsibilities.

  • Expert-level C#, .NET, and .NET Core.
