Pay Rate

• Local Candidates: $52–$65/hour, depending on experience.
• Travel Candidates: $2,500–$2,800/week, depending on experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to operate computed tomography (CT) scanners and produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CT imaging procedures, patient positioning, contrast administration, and radiation safety. Candidates should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of patient care and image quality.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care and Preparation

• Greet patients professionally and verify their identity using approved identification procedures.
• Obtain relevant patient histories and review physician orders, medications, allergies, and completed screening questionnaires.
• Explain imaging procedures to patients, answer questions, and address concerns to ensure understanding.
• Keep patients and their families informed of delays and respond appropriately to patient needs.
• Position patients correctly to obtain accurate diagnostic images while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Verify physician orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies appropriately.

CT Imaging and Contrast Administration

• Operate CT scanners and perform imaging procedures according to established protocols.
• Acquire, process, and archive diagnostic images while maintaining quality control standards.
• Perform venipuncture and establish IV access when required for contrast administration.
• Administer contrast media according to established protocols and physician instructions.
• Properly identify, prepare, label, administer, and document medications used during imaging procedures.
• Review patient medications and relevant medical information to identify potential contraindications or interactions associated with contrast media.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures when required.
• Support colleagues with patient preparation, IV access, computer functions, and other imaging-related duties as appropriate.

Radiation Safety and Infection Control

• Apply appropriate radiation-reduction techniques without compromising diagnostic image quality.
• Follow established radiation safety procedures to protect patients, staff, and other personnel.
• Wear, maintain, and replace dosimeters according to applicable policies and schedules.
• Follow infection control procedures, isolation precautions, and sterile techniques as required.
• Use appropriate patient-handling equipment and techniques to minimize the risk of falls and injuries.
• Monitor patients during procedures and provide assistance when necessary.
• Follow established patient safety policies and clinical protocols.

Teamwork and Documentation

• Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of imaging procedures and medication administration.
• Complete assigned work efficiently and within established timeframes.
• Support departmental operations while maintaining professional standards and patient confidentiality.

Required Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Understanding of isolation precautions and sterile techniques.
• Proficiency in patient positioning and imaging equipment operation.
• Knowledge of CT imaging procedures, radiation safety, and contrast administration.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Previous experience performing CT imaging procedures in a clinical setting.
• Experience with advanced CT imaging techniques and contrast-enhanced studies.

Required Education

• Graduation from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Valid Ohio Radiographer license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Certification

• ARRT (CT) certification.
