RN – Emergency Department

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Job Type: Contract – No Benefits
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 3 × 12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Some Holidays

Pay Rate

Local: $56–$59/Hour, Based on Experience
Travel: $70–$72/Hour, Based on Experience

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license and registration.
• Current BLS certification and ability to recertify.
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute-care experience within the past 2 years.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Emergency Department/field experience.
• Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Experience in a hospital of similar size, acuity, and complexity.
• Travelers must have experience at a hospital of equal or greater size or at a trauma center.
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience highly preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and provide appropriate acute care.
• Deliver safe and effective patient care with minimal orientation and supervision.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the majority of patient-care skills required for the specialty.
• Provide compassionate care in a high-acuity acute-care/trauma environment.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain strong communication and professional interpersonal skills.
• Work every other weekend and some holidays as required.
