Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oncology RN to provide comprehensive nursing care, patient education, and support for patients receiving curative and palliative oncology treatment.
Required Qualifications
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
BLS Certification.
Successful completion of CCH Pharmacology exam.
BSN.
Oncology nursing experience with curative and palliative treatment settings.
Experience working with terminally ill patients and their families.
Proficiency with computerized nursing/information systems.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Responsibilities
Provide patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
Assess and document patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Coordinate patient information and care with the interdisciplinary team.
Provide oncology education and counseling for curative and palliative treatment.
Educate and orient nursing staff and other personnel.
Maintain accurate patient records and discharge planning documentation.
Serve as a charge nurse and resource for patient care as needed.
Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and blood/body-fluid precautions.
Participate in quality improvement, staff meetings, training, and professional development.
Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards.
