• Mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• 5 days per week
• 40 hours per week
• 80 hours over two weeks

Position Summary

We are seeking a certified Surgical/Operating Room Technician with a minimum of 3 years of recent operating room experience in an acute-care setting.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center, teaching hospital, or comparable facility, with strong scrub experience across multiple adult and pediatric surgical specialties.

The Surgical/Operating Room Technician will provide scrub support during surgical procedures and work effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other members of the perioperative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures in adult and pediatric operating rooms.
• Provide effective scrub support during surgical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment as required.
• Support procedures across multiple surgical specialties.
• Provide scrub support for:
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • ENT
  • Vascular
  • GYN
  • Neurosurgery
  • Trauma
  • Bariatric
  • GU
• Perform duties appropriate to an acute-care operating room environment.
• Maintain appropriate sterile technique and follow established surgical safety protocols.
• Work effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other perioperative staff.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal orientation and supervision.
• Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successfully complete required pre-employment health clearance.
• Perform other duties appropriate to the Surgical/Operating Room Technician role as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Relevant education and training in Surgical Technology.

Licensure / Certification

• Current Surgical Technology certification required.
• Candidate must meet applicable professional certification requirements.
• Candidate must not have had a professional license or certification suspended or be subject to a disqualifying professional investigation.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of recent operating room experience within the last 4 years.
• Recent experience in an acute-care operating room required.
• Experience in a facility comparable to a Level I or Level II trauma center, teaching hospital, or similar high-acuity facility.
• Strong scrub experience required.
• Adult and pediatric OR experience required.
• Experience with multiple surgical specialties, including:
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery
  • Trauma
  • Vascular
  • ENT
  • Bariatric
  • GU
  • GYN
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have experience working in hospitals of comparable size and complexity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal orientation and supervision.

Additional Information
