Pay Rate: $1,100 – $1,161/week
Position Overview
We are seeking a Sterile Processing professional to perform decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, and surgical supply management while maintaining infection-control standards.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Basic computer and communication skills.
Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course or CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam.
One of the following: Anatomy & Physiology coursework, CCH Anatomy Exam, SPD Technician Certification, or 3 years of recent SPD experience.
SPD Technician Certification exam must be successfully completed.
Technician-level roles require the applicable SPD experience and certifications outlined for the position level.
Responsibilities
Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments and clinical equipment.
Assemble, wrap, package, label, and store instruments and sterile supplies.
Follow physician preference cards and established sterilization procedures.
Select appropriate sterilization methods and accurately document sterilization loads and biological tests.
Operate sterilization and SPD equipment, including steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris I, cart washers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and heat sealers.
Maintain surgical supply inventory and communicate shortages or inventory issues.
Retrieve, distribute, and track medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
Follow PPE, infection-control, safety, and department procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and provide professional service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
Participate in required training, meetings, in-services, and on-call responsibilities.
