Physical Therapist

Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

Travel Gross Weekly: $1,800–$2,000/week (based on experience)
Local Rate: $48–$52/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive physical therapy services to a diverse patient population in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This is an entry-level opportunity within a multidisciplinary team, with potential exposure to inpatient, outpatient, and acute care services.

Schedule Note: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. Occasional weekend coverage may be available; when weekend coverage is required, a weekday off will be provided.

Required: Inpatient Rehabilitation experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform initial physical therapy evaluations and examinations.
• Establish appropriate treatment goals and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement treatment interventions and conduct timely re-evaluations.
• Modify treatment goals and interventions based on patient progress and clinical needs.
• Coordinate patient care with other healthcare disciplines as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and within established timelines, including initial evaluations, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge summaries.
• Provide education and training to patients, families, caregivers, and personnel as appropriate.
• Recommend appropriate durable medical equipment (DME) in coordination with relevant team members.
• Prepare letters of medical necessity when required.
• Participate in discharge planning and make recommendations for continued physical therapy services.
• Develop and provide home exercise programs when appropriate.
• Attend required conferences, patient rounds, in-services, clinics, and team meetings.
• Assume additional patient assignments when coverage is required based on staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate therapy attendance records, patient charges, and statistical information.
• Participate in the supervision and guidance of rehabilitation patient care associates, volunteers, and students.
• Follow all applicable organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
• Maintain active membership with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Required Qualifications

• 0–1 year of professional experience
• Inpatient Rehabilitation experience required
• Current New York State Physical Therapy License
• Excellent oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
