Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit / Observation

Shift: Night | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: 48 or 38 Hours/Week

Pay Rate:
Local: $50–$56/hr, based on experience

Required Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license — Required
Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience in an acute-care setting — Required
Medical-Surgical and/or Observation nursing experience preferred
BLS certification — Required
ACLS certification — Required
PALS certification — Required
TNCC certification — Preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
Ability to manage changing patient acuity in a fast-paced environment
Ability to float to other areas within scope of competency
Availability to work holidays as required
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit
Care for patients with varying levels of acuity, including observation patients, higher-acuity cases, and ED holds
Care for medical patients and trauma overflow patients
Perform ongoing patient assessments and identify changes in patient condition
Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions
Monitor patient acuity and escalate care appropriately
Collaborate with physicians, ED staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Provide patient and family education and support
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Follow hospital policies, patient-safety standards, infection-control procedures, and regulatory requirements
Float to other units or areas within the nurse's competency when required
Work holidays as part of the assignment requirements
