Special Education Teacher – Emotional Disabilities (SPED ED / Intensive Program)
Location: Leesburg, VA 20175
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 45 Weeks
Shift: Day | 8:30 AM–3:45 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5 Days/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted – Must live within 50 miles
Traveler Candidates: Not Accepted
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hr, based on experience
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
Active Virginia Special Education teaching license
Endorsement or background in Emotional Disabilities or behavior support
Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral challenges
Strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills
Experience developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Must reside within 50 miles of the facility
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with emotional disabilities
Develop and implement individualized IEPs and behavior plans
Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
Use appropriate behavior management and de-escalation strategies
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials based on student needs
Monitor and document student progress and behavioral incidents
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, psychologists, administrators, and parents
Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings
Follow school policies and applicable special education regulations
